The celebrations aim to honor the contributions of Jewish Americans and bring the community together in appreciation of rich cultural heritage.
Get ready, folks! The glamorous city of Beverly Hills is gearing up for a month-long celebration of Jewish American Heritage Month (JAHM) throughout May! This initiative shines a bright light on the influential contributions made by Jewish Americans to the fabric of U.S. history, culture, and society.
Established in 2006, JAHM is about honoring the vibrant culture and rich history of the Jewish community in America, and Beverly Hills is excited to join in the festivities! With a significant Jewish population residing in the area, the celebrations are sure to resonate deeply within the community.
The celebration kicks off with a bang on May 4th at the beloved Beverly Hills Farmers’ Market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Get ready for a day filled with fun activities, mouth-watering treats, and entertainment! The lineup includes:

The excitement doesn’t stop after the kickoff! Beverly Hills has packed the calendar with even more engaging events:
The festivities continue every Thursday in May at the Roxbury Park Community Center, where films that explore Jewish themes will be screened at 1 p.m. Grab your popcorn and enjoy!
On the same day as the kickoff celebration, an incredible art installation titled “Unfolded Narratives” will be unveiled at the Beverly Hills Public Library. This 100-foot-long tapestry project showcases stories gathered from community workshops, bringing everyone together through their unique family histories. The fantastic artist Jenny Yurshansky leads this collaborative effort, creating fabric quilt squares from the participants’ stories!
The installation also includes “The Fugitive Archive”, along with an accompanying audio listening station named “Generation Loss” that will immerse you in the stories of the Jewish experience.
Throughout the month, additional activities such as “Shalom Stories,” “Jewish Tales, Tunes, and Tastes,” a movie screening of “Prince of Egypt,” “Two Jews, Talking,” and a “Critical Conversations Speaker Series” focused on allyship and Jewish culture will keep the spirit alive!
