Beverly Hills – Singer Golda Zahra captivated attendees at the Beverly Cañon Gardens on May 24 with a free concert that signaled the onset of the summer season. The performance at 6:30 p.m. was the first in a four-part summer series hosted by Zahra across Los Angeles, showcasing her talent in front of a diverse audience spanning various age groups and backgrounds.

The evening featured a jazz band ensemble that accompanied Zahra, delivering an array of well-known songs including Broadway hits and classical arias. Concert-goers enjoyed renditions of pieces such as “Quando m’en vo’,” “Mattinata,” “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” “Memory,” “I Could Have Danced All Night,” and “O mio babbino caro.” The inclusion of a six-piece jazz ensemble during intermissions further entertained the audience with classic tracks like “Just the Two of Us” and “Isn’t She Wonderful?”

Despite the limited seating at the venue, a significant crowd gathered, many bringing chairs, blankets, and picnic items to create a festive atmosphere. The concert concluded around 7:15 p.m., with Zahra receiving flowers from enthusiastic attendees as she took a bow, marking a successful start to the summer series.

Golda Zahra is no stranger to the Los Angeles music scene. A Beverly Hills native and alumna of Beverly Hills High School, Zahra has been performing professionally since the age of 12 and is currently dedicated to opera full-time. Her education includes training in Italy under the prestigious soprano Barbara Frittoli, contributing to her impressive vocal range and operatic strength.

In 2015, Zahra was recognized with the Los Angeles Music Center’s Spotlight Award and was also a finalist in the 2022 Rai Radio’s “Voice in Barcaccia” international competition. Her performances have graced renowned venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, Royce Hall at UCLA, and the Saban Theatre. Additionally, Zahra has collaborated with esteemed ensembles such as the Hollywood Chamber Orchestra, Burbank Philharmonic, Southeast Symphony, The Dream Orchestra, and LA Opera.

The Los Angeles Times acknowledges Zahra as “the rising star of the opera world,” a testament to her commitment and talent. Zahra’s connection to her hometown played a crucial role in her decision to host a complimentary concert for the community.

Currently, Zahra is studying with celebrity voice teacher Bill Schuman in New York as she continues to hone her craft. Her next concert is scheduled for June 13 at St. Monica’s Church in Santa Monica, where she will be backed by the Dream Orchestra and conducted by Daniel Suk. As the summer series unfolds, attendance is expected to grow, reflecting Zahra’s rising popularity and the community’s appreciation for her artistry.

The concert at Beverly Cañon Gardens not only amplified Zahra’s presence in the music industry but also underscored her commitment to engaging with her local community through the arts.
