The world premiere of “All These Women,” a historical drama written and directed by Melanie MacQueen, is set to take stage at Theatre 40 from September 18 to October 19, 2025. The play, which explores the pivotal moments in the fight for women’s suffrage in the United States, will be performed at the Mary Levin Cutler Theatre on the Beverly Hills High School campus.
Set against the backdrop of 1913, the narrative begins as a new Democratic president and Congress take power, igniting hopes for advancement in women’s voting rights. However, as the story unfolds, characters encounter challenges stemming from an impending war and internal divisions within the suffrage movement. They are faced with difficult choices that test their commitment to achieving the right to vote.
Performances of “All These Women” will be held Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are priced at $35, and ample free parking is available at the entrance on Durant and Moreno Drives. Melanie MacQueen, an experienced director at Theatre 40, has a notable history of producing successful shows, including “The Explorers Club” and “Engaging Shaw.” She is also known for her award-winning musical “In the Name of God, or Honk If You Love Satire,” which made the leap from Los Angeles to Off-Broadway.
The creative team for “All These Women” comprises assistant director LeeAnne Rowe, sound designer Joseph “Sloe” Slawinski, projection designer Gabrieal Griego, and a dedicated team for hair, wig, and makeup design led by Judi Lewin. Derrick McDaniel is in charge of lighting design, while Michael Mullen oversees costume design.
