Beverly Hills

Luxury fashion brand Louis Vuitton has announced plans to open an expansive flagship store in Beverly Hills by 2029. Spanning a total of 100,000 square feet, the new store will encompass a significant block bounded by Rodeo Drive, South Santa Monica Boulevard, and Beverly Drive. Designed by noted architect Frank Gehry, the project is expected to reshape the retail landscape of the famed shopping destination.

Construction for the flagship store is set to commence in early 2026. The front-facing retail space along Rodeo Drive will measure 45,000 square feet, integrating three levels dedicated to showcasing Louis Vuitton’s prestigious collections, including Women’s and Men’s fashion, Travel, Watches and Jewelry, and Beauty and Fragrance. Furthermore, the rooftop will not only feature private client spaces but also a scenic garden terrace, enhancing the shopping experience.

The store’s design will offer a second entrance on Beverly Drive, providing access to an additional 55,000-square-foot area dedicated to exhibitions and hospitality. This section will consist of two levels focused on exhibition space along with a café positioned in the exhibition lobby. A rooftop level will host a 100-seat restaurant, complete with an open-air terrace for patrons to enjoy.

Frank Gehry, renowned for his iconic buildings such as the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and the Walt Disney Concert Hall, is leading the architectural design of this flagship store. Meanwhile, acclaimed interior designer Peter Marino will oversee the store’s internal aesthetics, aiming for a combination of luxury and modernity that reflects Louis Vuitton’s status in the fashion industry.

The project is currently undergoing a review process to ensure compliance with local building codes and zoning regulations. Mayor Sharona Nazarian has publicly expressed support for the initiative, highlighting its anticipated positive impact on the local community. The addition of the flagship store aligns with efforts to elevate the cultural and aesthetic profile of Rodeo Drive, a hallmark of luxury retail.

Notably, the new store will feature the first permanent exhibition space for Louis Vuitton in the United States. This area will celebrate the brand’s historical influence on design and art, offering visitors a unique opportunity to engage with the legacy of Louis Vuitton as a pioneer in the luxury market.

Louis Vuitton’s parent company, LVMH, has held ownership of the site since 2018 and currently operates more than 15 storefronts in the Beverly Hills area. As part of its commitment to this prominent location, the flagship store will showcase a dynamic light-colored façade characterized by sleekly angled curves, reflecting Gehry’s signature architectural style.

As preparations advance, Louis Vuitton is actively responding to city requests for additional information related to the construction process, indicating a collaborative effort to align the project with community standards and expectations.

The anticipated flagship store stands to not only enhance the luxury shopping experience in Beverly Hills but also to fortify Louis Vuitton’s commitment to innovation in retail and its dedication to creating a lasting impact on the areas it inhabits.
