Beverly Hills – The annual Women’s Guild Cedars-Sinai Spring Luncheon held on May 1 at the Beverly Hills Hotel successfully raised nearly $1 million to benefit the Women’s Guild Neurology Project. This initiative supports critical research and education focusing on neurological disorders including Parkinson’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and Alzheimer’s disease.

Funds collected during the event will also contribute to the Women’s Guild Distinguished Chair in Pediatrics at Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children’s Hospital, overseen by Dr. Shervin Rabizadeh. This chair aims to advance pediatric healthcare and research initiatives, enhancing the quality of medical care for children.

At the event, philanthropist Wendy Howard Goldberg and her sister, entertainment agent Toni Howard, were honored for their contributions to both the community and their professions. Actor Samuel L. Jackson presented the sisters with the Trailblazer Award, acknowledging Wendy Howard Goldberg as a reliable source for those seeking help and information in the healthcare field.

Wendy Howard Goldberg, a New York Times bestselling author, has worked in collaboration with her late husband, Leonard Goldberg, on various notable projects. Toni Howard, recognized for her lengthy career in the entertainment industry, has represented esteemed clients such as Jackson, Michael Keaton, Diane Lane, and Goldie Hawn.

The luncheon featured a fireside chat moderated by Judge Judy Sheindlin, who praised Toni Howard as an exceptionally gifted agent, having met her 27 years ago. During the event, Toni Howard drew attention to her positive experiences with Cedars-Sinai, highlighting the high-quality care her husband received there.

Wendy Howard Goldberg emphasized the importance of giving back, stating that those who are privileged should actively support causes that are meaningful to them. The event was emceed by “Entertainment Tonight” host Nischelle Turner, adding to the engaging atmosphere.

In addition to the award presentations, guests had the opportunity to shop at an Elysewalker pop-up boutique at the luncheon, with 10% of proceeds from sales donated to the Women’s Guild. This initiative aligns with the Women’s Guild’s ongoing commitment to fundraising, which has surpassed $70 million for Cedars-Sinai since its inception.

The Spring Luncheon underscored the significance of women supporting each other in philanthropic endeavors and enhancing healthcare quality. Notable attendees included Beverly Hills Mayor Sharona Nazarian and actress Jamie Gertz, who celebrated the achievements and contributions of women within the community.

The event also recognized two outstanding members of the guild, Tanya Tavangarian and Beverly Firestein, with Evy and Bevy Awards for their dedication to the organization. Entertainment for the day was provided by singer Chris Mann, who performed pieces that encapsulated themes of hope and perseverance, uplifting the spirit of the gathering.

The support garnered at this year’s Women’s Guild Cedars-Sinai Spring Luncheon signifies the continued commitment to addressing critical health issues and the empowerment of women in the healthcare landscape.
