Event Highlights

The program includes the highly anticipated premiere of ‘Anthem’, choreographed by Janie Taylor. This piece is particularly noteworthy as it will be performed outdoors as a pre-show presentation, featuring dancers from the Trudl Zipper Dance Institute at the Colburn School collaborating with artists from L.A. Dance Project.

Once inside the theater, audiences will experience three additional works:

  • ‘Triade’ by Benjamin Millepied, the Artistic Director of L.A. Dance Project, which first premiered in 2008 at the Opéra Garnier in Paris. This piece serves as a tribute to Millepied’s mentor Jerome Robbins and incorporates dynamic movement alongside music composed by Nico Muhly.
  • ‘Quartet for Five’, a celebrated work by Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber that navigates themes of connection and tension. This piece has received positive acclaim and has been showcased at prestigious locations, including the Élysée Palace and Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.
  • ‘Sleepwalker’s Encyclopedia’, also choreographed by Janie Taylor, consists of six sections that ignite dreamlike imagery, inspired by murals from American painter Benjamin Styer.

About the Performers

‘Anthem’ represents a significant fusion of talent, showcasing the abilities of Colburn School students alongside the professionalism of performers from L.A. Dance Project.
