Beverly Hills – The Beverly Hills Unified School District (BHUSD) has officially appointed Loan Sriruksa as the new Principal of Beverly Hills High School, marking a significant leadership transition in the district. The decision was unanimously approved by the BHUSD Board of Education on Wednesday, July 16, and Sriruksa is set to begin her tenure before the start of the 2025-26 school year.

Sriruksa brings nearly 30 years of experience working in high schools throughout Southern California. Her extensive background has equipped her with a robust foundation to advance academic performance, enhance college and career readiness, and elevate overall student and staff achievement at Beverly Hills High School.

Throughout her career, Sriruksa started as a special education teacher, during which she also served as a department chair and multi-sport coach. Her passion for education led her to take on roles such as a teacher on special assignment, where she was responsible for leading districtwide professional development initiatives, creating benchmark assessments, and training educators in advanced instructional practices.

From 2010 to 2024, Sriruksa occupied numerous administrative roles within the Garden Grove Unified School District. During her time there, she served as an assistant principal at various schools, including Hare Continuation High School, La Quinta High School, and Bolsa Grande High School. Under her leadership, her schools experienced notable improvements, including initiatives that significantly increased Advanced Placement (AP) participation and pass rates, improved A-G and FAFSA completion rates, and enhanced performance on the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP).

At La Quinta High School, her effective leadership helped the institution earn a top 60 ranking in California by a well-known educational publication. In her role, she also pioneered new Career Technical Education and Dual Enrollment Pathways Programs aimed at providing additional opportunities for student learning and growth.

More recently, Sriruksa served as the principal of Esperanza High School in the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District. Her responsibilities included performance improvement planning, academic data analysis, and providing comprehensive instructional leadership across the school.

In her new role, Sriruksa has expressed her honor in being chosen to lead Beverly Hills High School and her commitment to maintaining a standard of academic rigor, upholding tradition, and ensuring student success.

BHUSD Superintendent Dr. Alex Cherniss has highlighted Sriruksa’s focused, experienced, and results-oriented approach as qualities that will significantly benefit the leadership at Beverly Hills High School. Her appointment is anticipated to inspire a new chapter of success as students and staff navigate the upcoming academic years.
